In the Southern Hills of the Dordogne valley, on a hillside with fantastic views you will find this charming partly medieval property named 'Griffoul'
Part of this typical Perigourdin house was build in the Middle Ages.
When the recent owners bought 'Griffoul' 10 years ago it was almost a ruin. An old man had lived in it for 70 years and stored heaps and heaps of 'stuff' in every space possible. In 1998 there was no main water and no electricity, the man lived of what the land gave him.
Nowadays 'Griffoul' is a comfortable 3-storey house with a pigeon tower, a veranda, a guest house and several terraces.
The same owl has been nestling for years and years in the tower (now a bathroom) and the owl can (sometimes) still be seen there.
This private property set on 3 acres of land has it's own swimming pool (5 x 11 m) with alarm.
A tennis table, trampoline, children's games and 3 mountain bikes are also available.
In Villefranche du Perigord you will find everything for daily shopping: restaurants, bakeries, bars, butchers, post office, bank, small supermarkets (epicerie/bar in Prats du Perigord), take-away food, chemist etc.
At only 4 km.from the house, near Prats du Perigord, there is a small lake with sand beaches, playgrounds, snack bar, etc.

"Griffoul" is a 3-storey building with a seperate guest house, the upper floor of the main house is for the owners use only and closed when let.
A well decorated, colorful and comfortable character house.
Going up a few steps you arrive at the veranda (equipped with a dining table) with its nice views over the garden, pool and hillsides. The kitchen and living room also have doors leading to the veranda.
Fully equipped kitchen with double gas hob/oven, dishwasher, double sink, frig/freezer, etc.
It has a dining table that seats 8 and a settee in front of the fire place.
To the right of the kitchen a spacious living room with settees, 2nd dining table, fire place, TV/DVD, books, plays, CD-player etc. The 'tower' is used as a small library.
Downstairs a bedroom with double bed and room for a cot and a 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds and a baby cot. Shower room with washbasin, shower and WC. In the spacious hall another washbasin, washing machine and tumble dryer. Through a 'storage room' one arrives at the outside terrace with BBQ.
Guest house: The open space guest house has a wood burner, kitchen corner with sink, fridge, micro wave and ceramic cooking plate.
A dining table for 4, a double bed, 2 single beds and a cot. En suite shower room with shower, wash basin and WC.
Also available: central heating, duvets, pillows. Iron and iron board, vacuum cleaner, 2 baby cots and 1 high chair. BBQ and garden furniture.
Pets are allowed after permission
Linen/towels (20 € pp) are available.
End of stay cleaning (€85) obligatory.
A maximum of 8 people (including children) are allowed.
