At 1,5 km from Lalinde (19 km east of Bergerac) a delightful conversion of an 18th and 19th century stone farm building in local style, these atrractive, detached houses stand on a hilltop with a south westerly outlook over its secluded garden.
Features: Traditional Perigourdin character with stone walls, tiled floors and stone niches and lintels, bedrooms are light and very spacious.
Tasteful with some modern and some antique french furnishings, they create an inviting ambience while the kitchens are pretilly decorated and well equipped.
The (covered) terraces and spacious garden offers a choice of sun or shade.
The shared pool is set among beautifully kept lawns with views of the rolling country side.
Beyond the gardens the owners walnut plantations.
The very kind and helpful french owners live approx. 500 m away. They speak english.
During High Season the 2 houses can only be let together, off season it is possible to let only the main house with the private pool. The other house will not be let at the same time.
Location: lively Lalinde on the river Dordogne, ancient Bergerac and its vineyards at 20 km. The mediaeval bastides of Beaumont, Monpazier and Issigeac; prehistoric caves at Lascaux and Les Eyzies; the most enchanting stretch of the Dordogne upriver, numerous chateaux and villages including Beynac, Sarlat, Domme, etc.etc.
Details of accomodation :
'Les Hugenots' consists of 2 seperate houses, the 'main house' which is slightly bigger than the 'guesthouse'.
The accomodations are more or less the same:
Ground flour main house: income with on the left one double-bedded bedroom, spacious showerroom with build-in wardrobe, seperate toilet.
Open planned fully equipped kitchen with breakfast table and open fire place.
Living room with dining table, settees, arrmchairs, music centre, sat TV etc.,
First floor: 2 spacious double bedded bedrooms with showerroom (shower, washbasin, W.C.)
Seperate laundry room with washingmachine.
Groundfloor 'guesthouse': spacious covered terrace, income in diningroom with ensuite living room with settee and sat TV. Next to the living room a double bedded bedroom with spare bed.
Shower room with shower. washbasin and washingmachine, seperate toilet.
Seperate fully equipped modern kitchen with breakfast tabale and ensuite terrace with table and view on the pool.
First floor with 2 spacious twin-bedded bedrooms and shower room with shower, washbasin and W.C
There is a separate outside staircase to the first floor (also staircase IN the house).
Also available: Separate building with washing machine and tumble dryer. And per house : Central heating or electric heating duvets, pillows, vacuum cleaner, iron/board, 1 baby cot, 1 high chair, BBQ, garden furniture, sunbeds, parasols.
Linen/towels (20 € pp) are available.
End of stay cleaning (2 x €75) obligatory.
Pets are allowed after permission owners.
