16 Daglan - La Gare

Set on the outskirts of the medieval village of Daglan close to the river 'Le Ceou', 100 m from the village shops, you'll find this enchanting holiday home La Gare, approx 20 km south of the beautiful touristic centre of the Dordogne: Sarlat.
La Gare is a nice, recently restored holiday home with private terrace, garden and swimming pool. The pool does not have a fence but an electric pool cover.
This house is very suitable for people who love to take a short walk to the bakery to buy a croissant in the morning, or drink a nice glass of wine at one of the village terraces. In Daglan you'll find 2 restaurants, a tea house, bank, post office, butcher, bakery, supermarket and some other shops.
On Sunday mornings visit the famous Daglan market with lots of regional products. Daglan is on the river Le Ceou. At 300 m from the house you can fish, swim and play. There is a playground with stone BBQs, picnic tables and swings.
Each year, around the 20th of August, Daglan parties for 4 days, with music/ bands, BBQs, carnival etc.
There are many Chateaux in the immediate region including the impressive Castelnaud (10 minutes by car) which overlooks the Dordogne River, it's beaches and canoeing facilities.
Details of accommodation:
La Gare has recently (2010) been restored and refurnished. At the side of the house a parking place with the fenced terrace a little higher up. Behind the house is a lovely swimming pool with nice views, garden furniture and sunbeds.
Entrance: Living room with open plan fully equipped kitchen (double sink, ceramic hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle etc.), a comfortable settee, armchairs, satellite TV and dining table that seats 8. Stairs lead to the 1st floor: with 2 bedrooms. Baby cot and high chair are available. Next to the bedrooms the shower room with shower, wash basin and a separate toilet.
In the cellar you'll find the washing macine.
The fenced terrace has a big umbrella, dining table, chairs and a stone BBQ.
Downs, pillows, vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board, a baby cot, high chair are provided. Electric heating.
End-of-stay cleaning 70€ obligatory.
Linen/towels available at 20€ pp.
